Foreword:

Greetings! We are China Christian Daily, the first comprehensive English Christian news website about the church in China. Thank you for your sincere love, prayers, and contributions to the Chinese church.

The advent of the AI era is inevitable, raising the question: Is the church prepared? In an article titled "A New Era of AI Is Here, and the Church Is Not Ready," Pastor Russell Moore, editor-in-chief of Christianity Today, questioned, What if Martin Luther had been unprepared for the Gutenberg era, or if Billy Graham had failed to embrace the television age?

In China, pastors exhibit three primary attitudes toward AI: indifference, active engagement, and a wait-and-see approach. In Hong Kong, a pastor and professor recently hosted a lecture titled "When Church Meets AI," exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and faith. The discussion delved into both the opportunities and challenges AI presents to the Church. Similarly, registered churches and seminaries, such as Heilongjiang Seminary, have also held symposiums on this topic. A millennial pastor emphasized that while AI may play a role in sermon preparation, it cannot replace the human touch that pastors bring to their ministry.
